シティ・ポップに特化したアナログレコードのイベント「CITY POP on VINYL」が今年は8月5日(土)に開催決定！
1970年代から80年代にかけて流行し、近年日本の若い音楽ファンのみならず、海外の音楽ファンの間でも確固とした人気を誇るジャンルとなった”シティ・ポップ”。
2023年もその人気は止まることを知らず、シティ・ポップのレコードを求めて日本のレコード店に足を運ぶ海外のお客様も未だ増え続けている状況です。
「CITY POP on VINYL」は、こうしたシティ・ポップの新旧作品をアナログレコードで楽しんでいただきたいという想いから、2020年8月に立ち上がったイベントで、今年で4回目の開催となります。
今回は、鈴木英人氏イラストが目を引く究極の70s～80sシティポップ定番コンピ「シティポップ・ストーリー ～Urban ＆Ocean 」や、細野晴臣らにより選曲された小坂忠のオールタイム・ベスト「THE ULTIMATE BEST -Analog Edition-」など、メモリアルな作品がラインナップ。
また近年ものとして、永井博氏描き下ろしジャケットが印象的な福岡のシティポップ・ニューカマー、BARBER IN THE LIVINGROOMの1stアルバムや、ネオ・シティポップとして解散後も高い評価を得る堀江系ガールズグループEspeciaの1stアルバム「GUSTO」のアナログリリースなど、時代を超えた作品が目白押しです！

Popular from the 1970s to the 1980s, "city pop" has become a genre that boasts solid popularity not only among young Japanese music fans but also among overseas music fans in recent years.
In 2023, its popularity continues to grow, and the number of overseas customers who visit Japanese record stores in search of city pop records is still increasing.
CITY POP on VINYL" was launched in August 2020 with the hope that people would enjoy these new and old city pop albums on analog vinyl, and this year will mark the fourth time the event has been held.
This year's lineup includes "City Pop Story - Urban & Ocean," the ultimate compilation of 70s and 80s city pop classics with eye-catching illustrations by Hideto Suzuki, and "THE ULTIMATE BEST -Analog Edition-," an all-time best album by Tadashi Kosaka, selected by Haruomi Hosono and others, The lineup includes memorable works.
Other recent releases include the first album by Fukuoka city pop newcomers BARBER IN THE LIVINGROOM, with an impressive jacket newly drawn by Hiroshi Nagai, and the first album "GUSTO" by the Horie-style girl group Especia, which is still highly regarded as a neo-city pop group after their breakup. The analog release of "GUSTO" and other timeless works are also in the works!
